Clear Aligners

If you’re wanting to straighten your teeth effectively and conveniently without the visibility and discomfort of traditional braces, then Clear Aligners may be the solution for you. Clear aligners are used to straighten teeth and improve bite alignment. It is a popular alternative to traditional metal braces, as aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating and cleaning.

What are Clear Aligners?

Clear Aligners are one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry treatments in the UK. It is an effective and convenient way of straightening your teeth without the need for surgery or fixed metal braces.

Clear aligners involves using a series of removable clear retainers to progressively straighten your teeth over time. They are extremely popular amongst those who don’t want people to know they have braces. They are virtually invisible due to their thin nature and clear appearance, and they minimise the effects on speech.

The Clear aligners system works by using a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners that gradually move the teeth into their desired position. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately two weeks before being replaced by the next set in the series, with each set bringing the teeth closer to their final position.

What is the Process for Clear Aligners Treatment?

During your initial consultation we will examine your teeth and discuss your goals to see if clear aligners are the best option for you. Not everyone is a good candidate and some cases may still require traditional braces or other orthodontic treatment.

Our expert team will take impressions and digital scans of your teeth, which will be used to create a 3D model of your mouth. You will be able to see how your teeth will look both during and after treatment, to make sure you are happy with your new smile.

You will receive your custom-made aligners that are unique to your teeth, as well as a treatment plan. You will be given several aligners in the series and it is important that you wear the aligners for the prescribed time before moving onto the next.

Your aligners must be worn for 20-22 hours per day to be effective, and they should only be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. The length of treatment can vary but typically ranges from 6 to 18 months.
