What is the Process for Dentures?
Step 1: Consultation
At your consultation we will talk you through your options for missing teeth as well as discussing the different types of dentures. We will perform a comprehensive examination of the mouth, including x-rays and impressions of the teeth and gums to determine which type is best suited to you.
Step 2: Create Your Bespoke Dentures
We then send the impressions and measurements taken of your mouth to our dental laboratory where your bespoke dentures will be made. If you have chosen implant based dentures, we will carry out the dental implant surgery at a separate appointment and your gums will need time to heal before fitting your dentures.
Step 3: Fitting Your Dentures
Once your dentures are ready, we will invite you in for another appointment where we will fit your dentures. We will check the fit and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the denture is comfortable and secure. We will show you how to put them into your mouth and take them out so that they can be cleaned every evening.
Step 4: Maintenance
It is important that you look after your dentures as part of your daily cleaning and maintenance routine. This may include daily brushing, soaking in a denture solution, and regular check-ups with the dentist. You should remove your dentures (unless you have chosen the implant based dentures) every night to allow your gums a chance to rest and to clean and soak your dentures overnight.
